PURCHASE

Anyone wanting to hear and or purchase an entire song can do so by going to the website Bandcamp (link below). Here you can hear the song in its entirety 3 times. If you like the song, it can be purchased, with all proceeds (less Bandcamp’s commission) going to Apopo (see the tab CHARITY). If you click the Follow button on Bandcamp you can be automatically notified of new releases.

It’s highly likely that Bandcamp is using forensic watermarking on the file you download. This means if you send a copy to anyone else it can be identified back to you, and therefore, you are proven to be in breach of copyright. Avoid the legal stress and retain the file for your own private use. All money raised goes to charity, so encourage others to buy their own copy.

While Bandcamp files can be downloaded in various formats, MP3 V0 (VBR) is recommended. The sound quality is indistinguishable from lossless formats but occupies minimal space on your device (if this is an issue). ‘Audiophiles’ can download Waves.

On the first Friday of every month, Bandcamp waives their entire revenue share, meaning Apopo receives all of the sale price. At other times, Bandcamp (15%).

Trivia: A person buying a 45 single back in 1975 cost them about US$1.50. Adjusted for inflation, it would now cost approximately US$7.
